WHERE the hell do I go to start the medical transforming of my 16 year old. He has already been through female puberty. We live in Port Jefferson Station, Long Island, New York. I really don’t want to have to go to Manhattan! There has got to be doctors here on Long Island, preferably in Suffolk County.

Try contacting the LGBT in Bayshore they can help, we also found a great counseling center in Bayshore called Heart and Soul, depending on insurance there is not a lot on long Island we travel an hour each way for sessions, but they have resources to help… Stoneybrook ped endocrinologists are great too!! Good luck!
